This upcoming year, we are celebrating 100 years of ministry. Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and School has stood as a pillar of Christian ministry, bringing Christ’s hope to the heart of the city. Our commitment to the St. Joe’s neighborhood and surrounding community has shaped our identity as a school. As we move forward as a distinct school ministry, while remaining closely partnered with the church, we are focused on preserving and strengthening our role within the neighborhood.

Our Praise Dance Mission

If you attended the Gala in April, you may have seen our Praise Dance team in action. Led by Ms. Ward and Ms. Fabian, this ministry has become a powerful expression of faith for our girls and a blessing to all who witness it.

Girls in 4K through 8th grade showcase their love for Christ through movement, uplifting others, and fostering community. We believe that dance is a powerful form of praise that transcends words and touches the heart, allowing us to glorify God in a unique and meaningful way.

Renovated Gym Space

Our gym is the heartbeat of our school. It’s used daily for morning assembly, physical education, sports and activities, recess, fellowship, and community events. While the space served its purpose, it had become dark and uninviting with outdated equipment. This year, the gym received updated lighting, which made the most noticeable difference. Along with freshly painted walls, bold blue stripes, and our Chargers logo. We added new basketball hoops and refinished the floor. The space is now a vibrant and welcoming environment that encourages competition, community fellowship, and pride. Our students and families now enjoy spending time in the gym and are proud to call it their own.

100 Years

We invite alumni, families, neighbors, and supporters to celebrate with us! Our first centennial event in June honored the church’s founding. Our next celebration will take place September 14, marking the school’s opening in 1925, with a special church service at 9:00 AM. On October 12th at 9:00AM, we invite everyone back to honor all former pastors and music directors during a commemorative church service.

Looking Ahead

As we honor the past, we are also boldly stepping into the future. Our vision is clear: to be a Christ-centered school where faith, academics, and community thrive together. We invite you to visit, to pray with us, and to support this ministry as we begin our next century of impact in Milwaukee. Whether you come to see our gym, join us in worship, or celebrate with our dancers, you are always welcome at Mount Calvary.
